Over 20 patrons attended the launch of ‘Learning to Create” on the evening of Thursday 17th March. They were treated to a variety of artworks created by April Dunstan and Rosemary Lehmann while they were studying to become Visual Art Teachers . The 60’s era when Rosemary’s were created reflect the diversity of the coursework-ranging from life drawings, painting, design, lettering and printmaking to various types of textile crafts. By contrast April’s works were created about 10 years ago and are of a very expressive nature giving an insight into the current educational trends in visual arts. April is the visual arts teacher at Jamestown Community School. Rosemary was the first art teacher at the then Jamestown High School from 1969-71.
