Brightening the future with a simple day of social Christmas fun…

Malcolm and Margaret Sparks began a get together for mature aged people a few years ago, aiming particularly at those who have lost their partners. On Monday 25th November nearly 90 people came together at Jamestown Football Clubrooms for a day of friendship and entertainment. Food was supplied by the Parents and Friends of St James School and the Year 7 students waited on the attendees whilst the St James Choir entertained the troops with songs of joy. There was also a time of singing for all with music supplied by Margie Symonds (keyboard) and Leslie Kulow on clarinet, Pam and John Staker together with Judy Lewis led the sing a long enjoyed by all.

Well done to Malcolm and Margaret , it is a magnificent event you host for so many people in our community. May this event continue into the future.

Sometimes it is a small thing that can make all the difference to a person who is suffering through grief, especially when they can find someone else to relate with.
