This music festival was created to help promote awareness for mental health in rural areas. It brings live music acts from regional SA, Adelaide and nation-wide headliners together in the one space, along with local SA gourmet food and craft beverages and wine to create a great day out for all. Also on site are various groups and services
that provide assistance in the metal health and wellbeing space right here in our local community. The festival really does have something for everyone and all for a great cause.
The inaugural event in 2019 raised over $20,000 for mental health projects that directly help those in our local community. To date we have made donations to Beyond Blue, Black Dog Institute and contributed to mental wellbeing projects in the region. Our next big undertakings are sponsoring the roll out of ‘The Resilience Project’ curriculum-based learning program at the Jamestown Community School across all year levels (R-12), and the establishment of the Secret Men’s Business group, a space for men of all ages and walks of life to mix in monthly and try something new.
These projects are only made possible by the success of the Caltowie COFU Music Festival, so we implore you to get behind this event in any way you can. Be it by attending, volunteering, sponsorship of any kind, even recommending it to friends and family, it is all about bringing the community together to help start conversations that could save lives. The 2020 event had to be postponed (as was nearly all local events) so the new date of March 27th 2021 is a great opportunity to get back out there (in a Covid-safe environment of course) and help improve the mental health of our community while enjoying a great day out!
