After a six year break, The Jamestown and Districts RFDS Support Group Ball was back. The sell out black tie event saw 200 people coming together in the Jamestown Town Hall for a gala night of great food and entertainment while raising much needed funds for the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
Tony Vaughan ASM of RFDS Central Operations provided an insight into the everyday operation of the RFDS followed by Les Burdett OAM as an entertaining guest speaker with a surprise of a picket from the original Adelaide Oval fence. This and the premium wine tasting package from The Belalie Hotel were hotly contested items in our live auction. The online auction also had some fierce competition on several items, both from attendees and those unable to make it to the ball.
Thank you to all who sponsored, donated, gave in kind support, bought an auction item or attended the Ball. You ensured our auctions and Ball were a roaring success and raised over $59,000.00 for the RFDS to continue to provide critical services in our region.
