Luke Goes State

9 year old Luke Heness is reaching for the swimming stars. Competing in SAPSASA in May Luke obtained 4 medals from the 4 events he swam (2 Gold’s and 2 Silver’s) and set personal best times overall. Selectors were on pool deck to observe him, which resulted in Luke securing a position in the SA School Sport team, competing Nationally at Sydney Olympic Park in August. He will be competing in the 50m Butterfly and Backstroke and the 100m Fly and Backstroke. The Jamestown Emperors Swimming Club had an amazing representation at this year’s SAPSASA Comp, with 9 of our 12 and under swimmers, competing in the North Eastern and the Mid North SAPSASA teams: Luke Heness, Jake Hogan, Tanner Fleetwood, Harriet Stacey, Charlton Hammat, Oscar Hammat, Ella Hammat, Marcus Couch and Alice Cootes. Lots of personal best times were made and wins in relays. Our 12 and under participants in the Jamestown Swim Club are an exceptionally talented group of athletes and the results of the swim season are a testament to their success. JASC wish Luke and his family a wonderful time in Sydney and look forward to seeing many more amazing results in the pool. GO EMPERORS! b y Club President -Tracey Dewell
