It was almost like Christmas had landed 3 months earlier and in the wrong hemisphere. On Friday 25th September local residents woke to the magic of a Winter Wonderland  in the middle of Spring.  Snow balls and snow men were made, some tobogganed and others tried skiing. Overall the morning cold blast was an exciting gift on the last day of term 3 for many a kid young and old.

The unusual weather event was caused by a polar blast that affected the highlands of South Australia averaging  almost 3cm of snow to the Mid North region.

Thank you to our locals for these amazing images.
