RFDS HOME HOSTED BALL SUCCESS

As we all know, the past year has been a challenging one for fundraising events. After cancelling our Ball in 2020, the RFDS Jamestown & District Support Group needed to make a decision around the plans for this year’s Ball. With the restrictions that were
in place at the time and the risk of a last minute cancellation if they were tightened, the committee came up with the Home Hosted Ball. The response was amazing.
Saturday May 1 saw the culmination of all the planning with several events taking place throughout the state. The ability to create your own event saw everything from a pyjama party to a black tie dinner.
A private group on facebook allowed interaction between groups and sharing of photos & short videos from each event which added to the fun.
The support from our sponsors and the community has been incredible. CMV Group Foundation have again been our major
sponsor and along with Kelly Kelly Legal, Miller Leese Financial Services, AFA, Davis Grain and Financial Services SA, the expenses of putting the event on have been covered, meaning we have been able to raise a substantial amount towards RFDS operations.
