St James School Pop Up Shop a Success

The Pop Up Op Shop took place on 19th, 20th, 23rd and 26th March in the Church Hall. Parent volunteers did an amazing job running the shop, Trading Table and sausage sizzle. The Op Shop looked fantastic, with many compliments from customers. I would like to thank the school community for their contributions to this major fundraising event and for the generous donations we received from the community.

We are blown away by the “Can Do” attitude of our school families. A special thank you to the Op Shop Team, Belinda Heness, Bek Sweet & Billie Thomas for their tireless efforts in making this such a successful event! A big thank you to Fr. Brian for allowing us to use the Parish Hall to host the Op Shop. There were many volunteers that made this weekend possible, too many to mention. We would like to thank you all for your time and efforts.

The Op Shop gives us a platform to promote sustainable practices to our students and also ensure that we continue to reduce our carbon foot print. This event emphasises Catholic Social Justice practices and our St James’ 5 C’s which are Care, Courtesy, Consideration, Cooperation and Communication.

This year the P & F ran a Trading Table alongside the Op Shop and what a hit it was with the customers. We received many kind donations of baked goods, fresh produce, sauces and other home made goodies. Thank you to all those who made a donation and a big thank you to Bridget Lange & Jodie Thompson for coordinating and running the trading table over the weekend.

Where would we be without our BBQ to compliment the Op Shop & Trading table?! Always a great success! We would like to thank Jamie Clapp for organising and running the sausage sizzle along with all of those who helped cook and serve throughout the weekend. Funds raised from the Op Shop Sales will go towards purchasing new swings and monkey bars next year.
