POSTPONED
The extremely generous work of the many volunteers in our community was acknowledged at a service on December 1, during Volunteers’ Week. This service also coincided with the Pageant Day Service. Representations from many organisations/groups were involved but unfortunately due to the weather, the service had to be held in the Combined Services Club rooms but obviously it proved to be the ideal indoors venue.
Volunteers give of their time so it seemed appropriate to conduct this service at Christmas time when we are also mindful of God’s gift to us, in the form of a baby, Jesus Christ, Saviour of the world!
Margie Symonds was the capable speaker on the ‘Importance of Volunteering’ – a very appropriate person to fill the role!
Members of the Inter-Church Council and others were thrilled to see the children on the Messy Church float demonstrating ‘the reason for the season’ in the Pageant.
You are invited to a combined Ecumenical Harvest Thanksgiving/Hope for the Future service in Memorial Park on Sunday 29th March at 11.00 am. Ex-Bundaleer Boy, Rev.Peter Riggs will be the inspirational speaker on this occasion.
A FREE Sausage Sizzle/Chicken Platter lunch will follow.
You are also invited to stay or come from 1-3 pm when the acclaimed Celtic Rock Band, THE BORDERERS will be performing a concert and entry is FREE. The entertainment is suitable for all ages so we hope to see lots of people/families sharing time together in our park.
